I Need Another Week Before Tomorrow
I am too tired for a proper entry tonight. Here are the main things that happened today:
- Spencer woke up with his hand feeling and looking much better. I got a brace and an ace bandage for it yesterday and have been dressing the knuckles with an arnica ointment. We’re keeping the brace on for at least a couple more days.
- I got Lina’s debit card situation sorted out. Despite the fact that I have gone to the credit union twice and told them exactly what days she would be traveling, she still got to London and was unable to use her card. And of course it was a weekend so I couldn’t do anything about it till the credit union opened this morning. It turned out that the clerk wrote the wrong thing down so they thought Lina wasn’t going to be in London till Wednesday.
- We had a 4H meeting this afternoon. Our group, which was once large and thriving, is now very small. I really, really hope we can keep it going.
- I had a tutoring session this evening and have been trying to focus on Geography since then, but I have really lost my momentum on that, especially considering how much other stuff has to happen in the next two days.
- I had to take Lucy to Walmart this evening, and I waited in the van while she went in to buy cat food. I was treated to a very entertaining vocal performance by one of the (young) shopping cart retrieval guys. He kept singing “Nearer My God to Thee” in difference voices and styles. I think the screechy falsetto was my favorite, but the off-key bass version had a sort of horrific appeal too.
- Lina is coming home in two days!
